Water usage: 4 litres to 20 kg mortar

WORKING INSTRUCTIONS:

Mix the dry mortar thoroughly (for a few minutes only). Add water and mix thoroughly, and the mortar is ready for use. Adjust if necessary by adding water or dry mortar. Prepared mortar remains workable within ½ - 1 hours. For best results the joints should be as thin as possible (1-3 mm), and the jointing surfaces completely dust-free. The mortar is hydraulic binding and dry after 48 hours at 15-20°C – preferably in moist air.

TOTAL air-setting is achieved in 27 days, though considerably high strength is achieved after 7 days – the strength is gradually increasing when the bricks are heated during firing in the ovenfire place.

In the beginning the construction should be heated at a slow rate to allow evaporation of steam and to prevent damage of brickwork. Do not expose to frost during installation and when still wet.

Store Calderys FIREPLACE MORTAR must be stored and covered to avoid direct sunlight.

PRECAUTION:

Wear gloves and eye protectors. If exposed to the mortar in the eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water!
